The Challenge

Van Express, an emergent logistics powerhouse headquartered in Europe, specialises in offering bespoke delivery solutions to corporate clients. Formerly known as BLLOOG, the company, under the leadership of CEO Koert Bloemers, embarked on a strategic rebranding initiative to transition to Van Express. Recognising the pivotal role of digital presence in their growth trajectory, Koert and his team engaged Jacobs Development to spearhead the creation of a dynamic new website tailored to the unique needs of their B2B clientele.

The project presented a dual challenge: first, to develop a website that not only showcased Van Express's expansive service offerings but also provided a platform for future scalability. With a dedicated in-house content writer and SEO specialist poised to generate a plethora of engaging pages aimed at enhancing website ranking, the website needed to be flexible and adaptable to accommodate ongoing content expansion efforts.

Secondly, Koert and his internal team identified operational growth opportunity by building a centralised system to manage their extensive fleet of drivers (numbering over 1200) and daily deliveries to diverse clients. Recognising the need for a comprehensive tracking, communication, and analytics solution, they tasked Jacobs Development with developing a sophisticated system to streamline operations and provide insights into delivery performance and financial metrics.

To address Van Express's multifaceted needs, Jacobs Development devised a holistic solution encompassing website development, custom dashboard creation, and mobile application integration. Leveraging Webflow as the primary platform, the team ensured scalability and seamless integration across all systems.

Process: The Website

Before engaging Jacobs Development, Van Express lacked a cohesive brand identity beyond its logo. Collaborating closely with CEO Koert Bloemers and his team, we embarked on a journey to create a captivating website from scratch using Webflow. Drawing inspiration from Van Express's Dutch origins, we opted for a clean white background with vibrant orange accents, paying homage to its heritage.

The website transcended the traditional static format, incorporating a robust CMS system to empower Van Express's internal SEO specialist to seamlessly upload blog posts and articles. This dynamic functionality ensured that content was automatically formatted within the design style, enhancing user experience and brand consistency.

Furthermore, we implemented essential features such as payment integration with Stripe and a custom order calculation system using Slater integration with Webflow. This innovative approach enabled customers to book van deliveries directly from the website, streamlining the booking process and enhancing customer satisfaction.

The result was a visually stunning website with a plethora of custom features seamlessly integrated into Webflow. This native integration ensures that the Van Express team can effortlessly scale and edit the website without compromising essential features, paving the way for continued growth and success.

Process: Custom Dashboard and Application

A pivotal component of this project entailed crafting a tailored dashboard for Van Express's internal operations, seamlessly integrated with a mobile application for driver tracking. Jacobs Development spearheaded the creation of this indispensable tool, leveraging Xcode and Android Studio to develop iOS and Android applications respectively.

The Van Express mobile application, currently in beta on iOS, equips drivers with a powerful toolset for package management. By scanning QR codes present on Van Express deliveries, drivers gain access to pertinent package information such as drop-off location and estimated time of arrival. Moreover, drivers can leverage the application to communicate with the Van Express team, reporting damages and seeking clarification through a dedicated messaging platform.

Data collected from the mobile application, subject to driver consent, is seamlessly integrated into the Van Express internal dashboard. Here, CEO Koert Bloemers and his team gain comprehensive insights into delivery performance, financial metrics, and driver whereabouts. Leveraging Webflow and Memberstack, the dashboard boasts a lightweight and user-friendly interface, ensuring efficient management of critical operations. Through customized data-ms-member fields, Jacobs Development ensured that all requisite information is presented in a secure and accessible manner, facilitating informed decision-making for the Van Express team.
